Custom Design Process

Step 1: Fill Out the Online Form

The first phase of our journey together is to gather more insight regarding the custom piece of jewelry you would like to create. The online form located below is meant to gather details regarding your project, as well as broadly describe project minimums required for custom work.

Step 2: Discovery Call

Let's get to know one another and set up a half hour discovery call or zoom meeting to discuss the scope of the project. Jewelry is an incredibly personal, sentimental, and cherished investment, and we want to connect with you to learn more about your vision.

During our first meeting, we will discuss the fine details, likes and dislikes, all the specifics. You will be asked to email over two to three inspiration photos before our meeting. Out of respect for any outside artists involved, I never blatantly replicate another's work. Instead, we will create a personal and unique piece of your own.

All custom projects have a completion time between 6-8 weeks minimum unless discussed in advance. Longer if sourcing vintage diamonds.

All customer provided heirloom diamonds must be pulled from the setting, independently appraised, or have laboratory documentation (preferably GIA certification) before the stone can be re-set into a custom design.

Step 3: Secure Your Space

A design deposit of $800.00 is required to reserve your project on the calendar. The deposit is non-refundable, and acts as a deposit towards your custom project. If any unforeseen circumstances should occur, the client will receive an email copy of the hand sketches used to create the custom design to be used however they see fit. The design deposit is non-refundable to cover the artist's time involved in the creative process.

Step 4: Design Research & Sketches

Translating our conversations onto paper is the language of design. Thoughtful care, consideration and research goes into the hand sketching phase of the design process. After a timeframe of two weeks, you will be emailed custom to scale drawings of design options for you to select from. They are each uniquely individual, and truly works of art. Once the design is approved, a formal quote will be emailed over for your project. A half down deposit is required to begin, and all sourced stones must be paid in full.

Step 5: 3D Computer Model (CAD) to Fine Metal Casting

After your sketch is approved, your design is built into a 3D model in order for you to view multiple dimensional views of your custom design straight from the computer. This process typically takes around two weeks. After design approval of the 3D model, structural or foundational changes to the base design cannot be made thereafter. The 3D model is an exact replica of what will be cast out of our fine metal selections. The casting phase typically takes two weeks.

Step 6: Precision Stone Setting and Jewelry Fabrication

All stone setting, hand engraving, and fabrication is done with the highest level of execution by a master level jeweler under microscopic magnification. All sidestone melee is ideal cut for optimal brilliance and sparkle. Social media updates are posted so clients can follow along and watch the jewelry making process. Social media updates for surprise orders are posted once the event date has passed. The stone setting and fabrication phase typically takes around two weeks.

Step 7: Finished Piece to Admire and Enjoy

It is truly an honor to work with you to create beautiful, high end, custom jewelry that is personal and meaningful. Once the design process is finished, you are left with a stunning piece of jewelry to cherish and enjoy for life with proper care. Recommended jewelry maintenance includes twice yearly professional cleanings and stone checks which are complementary with all custom work. All jewelry must be paid in full prior to pick up or shipping. A Certificate of Sale and Statement of Artist Authenticity is emailed over for insurance and documentation purposes to keep for your records.
